Patty Markos

Is the owner of The Patio Salon in Olney, Maryland where she specializes in Natural Beaded Row hair extensions. She is also Mrs. Maryland America 2006.

Patty opened the salon in her home to be close to her children in the year 2000. Six years later, while pursuing acting, she met the director of the Mrs. Maryland America pageant, Laurett Ellsworth Arenz while at a photo shoot. With heart disease as her platform, Patty was all in because heart disease is rampant on both sides of her family.

However, as Patty’s daughter Elaina grew, it became evident that her platform should have been dyslexia. This was what Patty fought for for the next 12 years of her life. Even now as her daughter is a senior in high school, she is still fighting for Elaina to get the education she deserves.
